Bansoreicha is made from the leaves of the guava tree and one of its ingredients, guava leaf polyphenol, works to prevent rapid increases in blood sugar. In fact, our study involving people with high levels of blood sugar found that the consumption of guava tea prevents rapid increases in blood sugar following meals. We at Yakult took a great interest in the benefits of guava tea, and soon made it part of a tea beverage, resulting in a delicious and refreshing new taste. In March 2000, Bansoreicha was approved by the Ministry of Health and Welfare—now known as the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare—as Food for Specified Health Uses. We hope customers will enjoy this healthy drink with their daily meals and whenever they want refreshment.

More than half of Japanese adults are said to have a high level of blood fat, due mainly to the combination of unbalanced eating habits and a lack of exercise. The drink Renefa contains a globin proteolytic agent which checks the rise in Serum Triglyceride following a meal, helping improve the diets of people liable to consumer fatty foods.   Lemorea

With the word “relaxation” taking on added significance over the past few years, a plethora of relaxation-oriented products and services—scents, music, imagery, massage, etc.—have become available. Yakult’s offering in the new beverage genre of relaxation drinks is Lemorea.
Lemorea is a refreshing, new type of beverage that features a relaxation effect. To produce this effect each bottle contains 100mg of L-theanine, a substance that contributes to the flavor of green tea and is said to induce alpha waves in the brain (the brain produces alpha waves when people concentrate or, more importantly, fall asleep), along with seven types of herb extracts that are believed to aid relaxation. In a test involving 200 female office workers in their 20s, one-third indicated that they felt some kind of physical or mental effect after drinking Lemorea and of these test subjects most said that they felt more relaxed or were better able to concentrate. Lemorea is now becoming widely appreciated among adults of all ages as a relaxation drink that provides a very real sense of relaxation.
