Yakult Honsha Co., Ltd. Extends Sponsorship as an Official Partner of the FINA World Championships and the FINA World Swimming Championships

Yakult Honsha Co., Ltd. (Sumiya Hori, President) has extended its sponsorship as an official partner of the FINA World Championships (2009 and 2011) and the FINA World Swimming Championships (2010 and 2012) organized by the Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA) for an additional four years, from 2009 to 2012.

Since July 2005, Yakult has been an official partner of the FINA World Championships and the FINA World Swimming Championships.

Currently, Yakult sells its fermented milk drink, Yakult, and other Yakult brand products, in 32 countries and regions across the globe.

By extending the agreement with FINA until 2012, Yakult aims to promote recognition both domestically and internationally that “Yakult is a company loved by people around the world” and “Yakult is a company that contributes to the health of people around the world,” as well as raise the Yakult corporate and product brand value.

Moreover, this agreement will give Yakult exclusive marketing rights in the dairy products and non-alcoholic beverages category at the FINA World Championships and the FINA World Swimming Championships. In addition, the “Yakult” logo will appear on the bibs and swim caps of female athletes, on the swim caps of male athletes, and on pool-side advertising boards. Yakult will also have the right to use the official FINA logo on printed material and products. Yakult will have these rights from January 2009 until the end of December 2012.

Also, throughout the duration of the FINA World Championships that begin July 17th in Rome, Italy, Yakult will provide its fermented milk drink, Yakult, as well as other drinks to athletes and event officials.
